I have illustrated five books for Cottage Publications, Donaghadee, Co. Down, Northern Ireland, http://www.cottage-publications.com:
"Inishowen, Paintings and Stories from the Land of Eoghan", with text by Sean Beattie and Martin Lynch
"Donegal Islands" 2003, text by Wallace Clark
"Connaught Islands", Autumn 2005, text by Wallace Clark
"Donegal's Wild Atlantic Coast", text by Sean Beattie 2017 (click for images).
"Roosters and Hens for the Appreciative Eye", text by Suze Craig. This was an Irish-American collaboration. When published in 2006, it filled a need on both sides of the Atlantic for a short, clear, concisely and attractively illustrated introduction to the wide variety of fancy and barnyard poultry. 90 vivid paintings show the beauty and zest to be found in these birds. Suze Craig’s commentary includes points of interest to the uninitiated, plus anecdotal keeping and care information, together with brief geographical and historic backgrounds. November, 2006. ISBN 1900935 45 7
I was invited to write a chapter on Pastels in the book "Painting Skies and Seascapes", by Peter Rush, author and illustrator. Well known for his illustrations for BBC's "Jackanory" children's series. This book is a guide to the techniques, materials and tools, including illustrations, ideas and tips "from leading artists skilled in different media". Published by Crowood Press. 2014 . ISBN 978 1 84797 621 5
Leading articles have appeared in the International Artist magazine. No. 44 August 2005 and No.97 June 2014
After the death of Wallace in May 2011, I decided to hold an exhibition in his honour. This I called "The Noon Balloon" in reference to a habit of his when sailing, of drinking a glass of Rum and Coke around Noon each day. The exhibition was held in Flowerfield Art Centre, Portstewart, Co.Antrim, Northern Ireland in December of that year. For a link to the images which all were inspired by the two books, and our adventures go to Noon Balloon.
