Ros's last Exhibition in The Forge Gallery, Co.Louth, Ireland, consisted of 22 paintings of Island doors.

The ingenuity used in keeping them standing, with the layers of peeling paint and the rusty chains, latches and bolts, intrigued her and inspired her to paint them as they all had a story to tell.

These doors came from the Islands sailed to whilst illustrating her books "Donegal Islands" and "The Islands of Connaught".
