Ros Harvey is a Member of the Royal Ulster Academy and The Pastel Society of Ireland.

Impressions from a Donegal childhood have enabled Ros Harvey to capture the vivid and rugged elements of the Inishowen landscape, and is the essential focus of this artist.  She has brought  the primary elements earth, wind, fire and water into her compositions.

From the shades of smoke, or reflections on wet sand, to the dramatic intensity of a breaking wave or stormy sky, all are subtly handled in her paintings.   The establishment of Ballagh Studios, in the most Northerly region of Ireland, with a showroom, print shop and framing workshop has helped her to produce a coherent body of work in painting and print-making.

Ros has shown in the Royal Ulster Academy, Belfast; Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin;  and The Royal Society of Marine Artists, London.  She has been awarded the Guest's Choice Prize in the John Laing Open Exhibition in the Mall Galleries, London, the Derek Hill Prize in the Glebe Gallery, Donegal, the Pastel Society's Selector's Prize and the Kennedy Gallery Prize, Dublin.     She has also shown her work in Italy,  Germany, France, The Netherlands, the UK and USA.

Exhibitions

Ros's latest exhibition is entitled "The Noon Balloon", at the Flowerfield Arts Centre, 185 Coleraine Road, Portstewart, Co. Antrim (Tel. 028 7083 1400) and is a collection of images from 10 years of voyaging with Wallace Clark, who sadly died last May 2011.

She would like this exhibition to be a celebration of his life and all who ever sailed with him, and also love of the islands.

Her last exhibition was on 30th October 2009, in the Rodaigh Gallery, Carndonagh, Inishowen, entitled "Homage to Glashedy" celebrating the iconic island.

Her exhibition entitled "Island Doors" was a selection of deserted cottage doors on the Islands she visited for her two Island books.  This was held in the Forge Gallery, Co. Louth.
